1. Temporary foot impressions left on a turf because the flaccid leaves of grass plants suffering wilt or incipient wilt have insufficient turgor to spring back. See also Frost foot printing.

This is an example of a wilting plant. If the wilted leafs fall on the turf, they could leave a temporary impression.
